F1 2017 New Wet-Weather Start Rules

Safety car rules have changed for 2017 with standing starts returning for wet Grand Prix. Giving drivers more chances to overtake.

Daniel Riciardo said the following about the new rules: “Obviously it creates more variability again, so i think for the fans it’s going to be more exciting”.

If the conditions are too wet the safety car will still go out but return to the pit lane and let drivers form up on the grid once more. Wer standing starts have produced memorable and terrible starts from top drivers. And we should see more unpredictability in 2017.
